My Big Campus

We believe that learning is a journey in solitude. The real work of education is to teach a learner how to learn. Education must be a path to make us life long learners. In order to do this, we believe that the old must be dismantled. Having rejected the rote learning-textbook-classroom herding format, our alternative is a self-paced individualised learning model through a Learning Management System – My Big Campus.

My Big Campus is an interactive online environment that allows students to navigate learning at a pace and speed comfortable to them. Designed with tools for learning and assessments, educators facilitate their learning, track progress and build interactive content. A growing community, My Big Campus currently consists of the learners of Tamarind Tree School,  young children from the SUPPORT, Mumbai centre working on their English and Maths literacy, and students from the Pragati High School, Shirwal, Maharashtra.

NCERT FRAMEWORK

The online courses on My Big Campus are based on the NCERT curriculum. They include customized learning videos, simulations, unplugged & online assignments, forums, blogs, test quizzes and more. We also customize courses as per the requirement of the school or learning centre.

OPEN LMS

My Big Campus is hosted on Moodle – a global open source learning platform that enables educators to create a personalized learning environment.

Tamarind Tree is part of the global moodle community and one of the only spaces in India implementing an LMS at elementary levels.

INDIVIDUALIZED LEARNING & COLLABORATIVE CONTENT

With the classroom format broken, the LMS allows students to become independent learners. An educator can deliver the content in a blended style or the LMS can be done independently by students.

Teachers become mentors, who guide learning. They track grades and also customise learning content.

Learning on an LMS is interactive – students upload assignments, images, text, respond to forums, are tested through quizzes, schedule meeting with mentors.
